Atomicon + New Art

Good morning!

The news this week is that on May 12th I'll be sharing a table at Atomicon and selling some art!
The event is free, so please make the journey if you can.

"Over 30+ artists will be showcasing their talents and selling prints, buttons, fan fare etc as well as their artwork.
Feel free to dress up in your cosplay outfit and win a $100 Prize!
Contest at 8:30pm sharp!

Atomicon takes place at the Anza Club Vancouver from 6:00-11:00pm.

I'll have some buttons, cards, prints, and maybe some tote bags available. Most exciting, at Atomicon I'll be showcasing pieces from my new art series which is based on some things my friends and I wish were socially acceptable to say to people. Directly below, please find two of the completed images. Three to four further images are in the works.

Fundraiser Results

Good evening,

So, this is a quick follow up entry to my previous post on the fundraising initiative.

The results are in and I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who's bought my art in the month of March and helped me raise money towards a wildlife conservation donation. The grand total was $60.00!

After some research, I've decided to donate the proceeds to the Nature Conservancy of Canada.

Good afternoon friends and happy March! 

My birthday is coming up this month and to thank the universe for keeping me alive for these last 26 years I was hoping to so some fund raising for environmentalist groups and animal conservation charities. I am still researching which ones would be the best fit, but was planning on keeping it local to British Columbia/Canada. 

As you might have noted from my previous self promotions, I have a number of places online where I sell originals, prints and merchandise of my work. So, my idea is that for the month of March, all proceeds from the pieces I sell, I'll donate. I hope you'd like to help me help our planet, and order yourself a little something. Every little bit is appreciated. :)

News from November

Oh wow, it's been quite a while since I've last posted. November has been a busy month, however. Along with the secret, collaborative project that I've been working on (and still am, which is why I haven't posted much new art), I've also had to produce work for a local gallery show and art sale.

On November 14-16, 2013 I took part in The Postcard Show, Volume III at the Hot Art Wet City Gallery, Vancouver. I contributed five 4x6" artworks which went up for a silent auction. When I stopped by I saw that a few of my pieces had bids on them, but I'm not sure as to what happened later - if they all went to happy homes. I'm sure the details will be available shortly thought.

Then from Nov. 22 to 24th I took part in the annual Emily Carr Student Art Sale. I mostly had postcards and unframed prints for sale, but there were also a number of framed prints, a couple of acrylic paintings, and three patterned boxes up for grabs. I'm happy to report that most of this merchandise got sold, with only a few pieces left for me to take home. I'll be making an illustration-based Etsy shop soon - so stay tuned!

Postcard Parade!

Hi!

Fine, maybe not "parade" per se, but there will be a festival and there will be postcards for purchase.

Next week, starting on Thursday August 1st the Yellow Crane Festival of Art & Design will be rolling out tables on Granville Island, Vancouver for their annual summer celebration of Emily Carr University of Art + Design’s diverse and talented students and alumni!

The festival is free to attend and it will be on 11am to 4pm daily, from August 1st to the 4th.
I'll be there with some friends, representing the Rain City Illustration Club of the university and selling cards, illustration prints, screen prints, original artwork, calendars, and even skateboard decks (I think). It should be a really great atmosphere with live music, prize raffles, laughter, art, and ice-cream all around. So to everyone in Vancouver - please stop by to at least have a look! =)

What I'm contributing are some prints and postcards that I've recently had printed. I'll have 5 of each of these up for grabs - all nicely packaged in crystal clear bags with a cardboard backing:

The postcards I've ordered from Moo.com and they turned out wonderful and they arrived much quicker than the estimated date, only about a week after I ordered them actually. I'm always worried about colour and contrast accuracy when I order anything, but there was nothing to fear as these came out pretty close to precisely what I saw on my screen. Yay Moo! I'm not getting promote them, I'm just delighted when I get what I ask for. Anyhow, here are the cards:
